Fisantekraal

In 2009 The Father’s House partnership with Resilient Kids SA in Fisantekraal began when members attended a Resilience Builder training week and helped on a camp for orphans and vulnerable children.

The School of Ministry students facilitated small groups of youth on an experiential learning leadership camp in Grabouw in May 2010.

In June 2010 our children’s ministry ran a Holiday Bible Club for almost 300 children aged between 6 and 12 years. Lynette and a team of youth volunteers worked with adults and youth from Fisantekraal to run a 5 day program of teaching, games, worship, and craft activities in the community centre. The week was such a success that a monthly Kids Club was launched from it.

Since August 2010, the first Saturday of every month has seen a core group of adults and youth from our church joining a group of adults and youth from Fisantekraal between 9am – 12pm at the Community Centre. For 2 hours they play with children, lead worship, share Bible stories, do skits, help run resilience building small groups, and in many other ways show God’s love.

Volunteers are always welcome – juice and biscuits too. BUT mostly prayer.

In 2011 the FHCF and Philippi Trust, South Africa partnered to form the Fisantekraal Shalom Trust.  The two ministries Resilient Kids SA and MercyAids are working together in Fisantekraal, with volunteers in the church to do a long term work for vulnerable children and youth.
