In chapter 37 Ezekiel promises his people a change in their fortunes: new leadership, a restored land, rebuilt cities, and many of the features of the Messianic era. But Ezekiel's prophetic words were met with scepticism: the fall of Jerusalem had meant the breaking up of their faith. They looked at their shattered lives hence their cry: 'Our bones have dried up, and our hope is lost.' Can these bones live?' The answer is no! But Ezekiel believes they can live. God can do a mighty miracle for these exiled Jews!
In a vision God shows Ezekiel how he is going to restore these broken, dry, hopeless people into a might army once again.
